Miss Catherine A. Allen, 61, of 1655 Arizona St., died today at 10 a.m. at Mercy Hospital. She had been in ill health for several months.

For 17 years. Miss Allen had been director of the Visiting Nurses Association in Kenosha, retiring a year ago last May.

She was born in Oshkosh on Aug. 13. 1901, graduated from St. John elementary school, Oshkosh High School, Oshkosh State Teachers College, Mercy School of Nursing and held a degree in public health from Marquette University.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, several state nursing associations and Kenosha Catholic Women's Club.

Surviving are one brother, Daniel Allen, Oshkosh; and two sisters. Misses Margaret and Dorothy Allen, Oshkosh.

Services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, with the Rev. Walter T. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Friday at 3 p.m. until the hour of services. The rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p.m., at which time Knights of Columbus will attend.
