Andronia (Alderman) Allen, age 81 of Sturgis, KY died Tues. 5/10/2016 at her residence. She was born on September 4, 1934 to Martha Williams and James Sherman Alderman. Andronia was a member of Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America since 1995. She worked at Union County Methodist Hospital for 25 plus years. After retiring from Union County Housekeeping Department, she became a caregiver in Henderson County for several years.
Andronia was married to B.F. Allen, Sr. for over 58 years, where they worked very hard together to make life as easy as possible for their children and grandchildren to make sure they all had what it took to become the strong adults they are today. The highlight of her life was playing basketball with her great grandsons when they can to see their MeeMaw. She also loved watching Michael Jordan play basketball. She played softball for years until she couldn't. She was a lady of many words. She always said, "She called it like she saw it; a spade was a spade." She will be missed truly by family and friends but will not be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by his son, Myron Ray Allen; daughter, Martha Inez Allen; parents, Martha Williams and James Sherman Alderman; 5 siblings

Graveside service will be 11AM Mon. 5/16/2016 at Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis, KY. Rev. Ronnie Burkins will officiate. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
