The Daily Northwestern (Oshkosh, WI) 31 Mar 1931:
Mrs. Bessie Allen of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, died Sunday and will be brought to Oshkosh for burial Wednesday. She was the widow of John Allen, who died many years ago. About 15 years ago she went east. Mrs. Allen was 75 years old. She was born in Ireland and came to the United States when a young woman. She married Robert Allen, and after his death was married to his brother, John Allen, also deceased.
Her survivors are two daughters, Mrs. William D. (Lucy) Harmon, with whom she resided, and Mrs. Lillian Johnson, of San Antonio, TX. Mrs. Harmon formerly was Mrs. Stephen Kelley of this city. Mr. Kelley died here 22 years ago. Mrs. Allen's remains will arrive here Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock on the Chicago & Northwestern railroad, and will be taken directly to Riverside cemetery for interment.
