Beryl McGee Allen, born October 29, 1903 in Elmwood Place, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 29, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she resided for the past four years.

She graduated from West High School, and became the 1st Vice President and was voted the most popular girl in her senior year. Her name is set in the floor tile at the entrance to the school.She married John J. Allen, August 7, 1925 and went to work for the law firm Ingerbretsen, Ray, Rawlins, Christensen and Jones. In 1941 they moved to Idaho Falls and lived there for 13 years. They then moved to Burley, Idaho where she became the president of the library board and a member of chapter BB of the PEO Sisterhood.

In 1960 they returned to Salt Lake City, where she became an associate member of the women's board of Westminster College. She took art appreciation classes at the U of U, traveled extensively and was a member of the Salt Lake City Country Club, Towne Club and PEO. In 1963, upon the death of her father, Frank Herbert McGee, she became a partner in the firm of McGee-Hogan Machine Co. She gave of her time as a pink lady at Holy Cross Hospital, and served as secretary to the Utah Symphony for two years in her earlier days.

She is survived by two sons, John McGee Allen and his wife Tove W. Allen, Las Vegas, Nevada; and Stephen Frank Allen and his wife Doneda R. Allen, Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive. Family and friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
