TUPELO – Elaine Bramlett Allen, 97, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Community Hospice House - Darlington Oaks in Verona. She was born March 29, 1912, in Stewart to the late William Chester Bramlett and Sarah Eudora Bruce Bramlett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Verona Church of Christ. She loved crocheting, crossword puzzles, dominoes and bingo and she loved to go and be apart of the Senior Citizens Center of Tupelo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Wayne Cox officiating and Bro. Joe Connel assisting. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five daughters, Denise Queen and Eva Johnson, both of Tupelo, Annie N. Cortez (Romie) of Salins, Calif., Dannie L. Raney (Sam) of Amory and Elaine Kelly (Mike) of Savannah, Ga.; one son, Billy Wayne Allen (Mary) of Reno, Nev.; 32 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pate Allen in 1976; her parents; and one son, David Eric Ommen.

Pallbearers will be David Nelson Sr., David Nelson II, Andrew Wilbanks, Curtis Brock, Chris Oliver and Steve Wilbanks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Bramlett, Billy Oliver, Michael Ard-Kelly and Jeffery Kelly.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Verona Church of Christ; or the Community Hospice House of Verona.
