Mrs. Lenora Alexander, age 78, wife of the late W. R. Alexander, passed away Thursday morning, 19 April 1956, after a long illness.
Mrs. Alexander was an active member in her community, and Valley Groove Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member for 62 years until failing health prevented her from doing so for the past 13 years.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. J. D. Frost, Mrs. Arthur Knowles, Mrs. Jessie A. Killingsworth, Mrs. M. L. Bridges and Miss Lois Alexander all of Calera, two sons, Howard of Calera, and Leonard of Craig Field, Selma, 22 grandchildren, 16 g-grandchildren, three brothers.
Funeral services were held at Valley Groove Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon with burial in the Selma Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Jack and Joe Killingsworth, Lonnie and Alex Knowles, Bryon Alexander and Milton Bridges.
Officiating ministers were: Rev L. B. Stewart, Rev. John Roberson, and Rev. Robert L. Shurbet.
