ADAIR, Elva Allen, 58, of Hillsville, formerly of Bedford, died Monday, April 14, 1997 at the Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Bedford County on July 10, 1938, a daughter of the late Homer Franklin Allen and Lina Miller Ramsey Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Irene Burnette and Lola Virginia Falls, two brothers, William F. Allen and Russell Clay Allen. Elva was owner and operator of Adair's Blu Vue Restaurant. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Baird Adair, Hillsville; former husband, Joseph Richard Burnett, Bedford; a daughter; three sons; two daughters-in-law; son-in-law; five sisters; five grandchildren [names removed for privacy]. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. George C. Law officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
