Albert Doyle Allison, 63, of Lumpkin, Georgia, lost his battle with cancer. A native of Columbus, he served his country in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War, and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Allison; his father, Albert C. Allison; his mother, Bettye Huff; sisters Debbie McLean and Donna Whitfield; aunts and uncles; one nephew and two nieces; step-children, Rusty Carroll, Kelli Carroll, April Carroll; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2006, at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus with Dr. Brad Hicks officiating. Interment will be private at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. "He may no longer be on this earth with us, and will be missed by many, but rest assured, he will be with all of us on opening day of every hunting season."
