Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co., Ky., 22 Nov 2006 - STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Margaret A. Alexander, 83, of State College, formerly of Paducah, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at home.

Born Feb. 20, 1923, in Gordonsville, Va., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Wood Allman. In August of 1941, she married Harry B. Alexander, who died Sept. 21, 1991.

She attended the Bellefonte Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was an excellent wife and mother, well known for her handicrafts. She taught her skills to other people and donated many of her crafts to churches, schools and other civic organizations.

She is survived by two children, Jane Davis of State College and Harry B. Alexander Jr. and his wife, Melanie, of Harrisburg; four grandchildren; a brother, George Allman and his wife, Virginia, of Gordonsville, Va.; a brother-in-law, Grayson Alexander of Harrisonburg, Va.; nieces, Karen Alexander and Lottie Duff, her husband, Jim, and daughter, Jennifer; and a nephew, Everett Alexander.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Mr. Barry McMurtrie officiating.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville, Va.
