Leonard Almstedt, my Dad, was known for his flowers of every kind. They were his hobby, and he could make anything grow. In his early years, before working for Southwestern Bell, he worked at the stockyards in East St. Louis, Ill. He drive cattle across the bridge on horseback to Ben Stats Slaughterhouse.
