AGUEDA (DOMINGUEZ) ALONSO

Agueda Alonso, of the Town of Niagara, died Sunday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. She was 97.
Born on August 5, 1907, in Valladolid, Spain, she was the daughter of the late Marcario and Agueda (Coton) Dominguez.
She received her education in Spain and came to Niagara Falls in the early 1930s.
She married Frank Alonso in 1934 in St. Mary of the Cataract Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He died in 1987.
Mrs. Alonso was a member of the Spanish American Club, enjoyed bowling, and at one time participated in a women's league at Bowl-O-Drome. She also enjoyed attending exercise classes with her daughter, but her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Michael P. (Corrine) Alonso of Troy, Mich.; a daughter, Susana (late Anthony) Nicholas of the Town of Niagara; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Florentino Alonso.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church.
Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
