Mary Britten Anders was the second of twelve children of Nick and Christina (Bey) Britten. The county of Mary's birth is unknown at this time. Nick and Christina's first child was born in Wood County, Wisconsin and their third - eighth children were born near Hilbert in Calumet County, Wisconsin. The rest of the children were born in Wood County, Wisconsin. Mary would have been about 10 years old when they moved back to Wood County.
