Frankfort – Earl Robert Anderson, Sr., 64, passed away peacefully September 18, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving wife and children after a long battle with heart complications and cancer. Earl was born in Bangor December 25, 1946 to Clifford and Olena (Grendell) Anderson.

Earl was a lifelong resident of Frankfort, a town he much loved and centered his life around. He was a member of the Frankfort Village Fire Department for 50 years. As the chief, Earl had many accomplishments including getting the fire department two separate grants, a new 2008 fire truck as well as new turnout gear and Scott Air Packs. At the time of his death, other than chief, he was the town Fire Warden and EMA Director. Earl held many other positions for the town of Frankfort including the restart of the Boy Scouts, positions on the Recreation Department, the Town Forest Committee, Dam Committee, Constable, and the Budget Committee. He worked in construction for most of his life and was a lobster fisherman for many years. He was a member of the Frankfort Congregational Church for many years.

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra; 4 daughters, Wendy O'Brien and husband Mike of Frankfort, Melissa Bilodeau and companion Dean Flye of Albion, Angela Norton and husband Lenny of Frankfort, and Heidi Gabriel and husband Eric of Frankfort; 2 sons, Earl, Jr. and wife Becky of Frankfort and Jeff Anderson and wife Tami of Winterport; a brother, Gerald "Duff" and wife Kelly of Maine and Florida, grandchildren, Mikey, Matt, Lizzy, Melinda, Gabe O'Brien, Hannah Bilodeau, Cassie Bonney, Makayla and Briana Gabriel, Billy and Melissa Duffy, Alyissa and Miranda Thibodeau; 1 great grandchild, Jacob O'Brien Dyer, as well as several brothers and sisters in law. Earl was predeceased by his parents, an infant son Michael Anderson, a sister, Sally Scott, and his in laws, Kenneth, Sr., and Edna Lyford.
