POLICEMAN DEAD
Albert Anderson, Colored, Passes Away After Lingering Illness.

Policeman Albert Anderson, colored, of the fourth precinct, died at his home,
no. 437 1st street southwest, about 4:45 o'clock yesterday morning after an
illness of several months. The deceased had served as a member of the police
force about ten years. Most of his time was spent in South Washington, where he
made a good record. He participated in the arrest of two alleged murderers and a
number of other important cases. A wife and several children survive him. His
funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon from Zion Baptist Church in South
Washington. The Interment will be in Harmony cemetery. A general order
announcing the officer's death and appointing a detail to attend the funeral has
been made by Major Sylvester.
