Carolyn McCord Anderson died on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00AM at Highland Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Jake Hall officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the sanctuary. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Hills Baptist Church, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon, Georgia, 31211.
Honey, as she was affectionately called, was a master gardener who had a love for her flowers and hummingbirds. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was a loyal and devoted member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and the Rod Browne Sunday school class for over 50 years. She attended Auburn University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Mrs. Anderson is predeceased by her first husband, Robert A. “Bobby” McCord, III; brother, James E. Brown, Jr.; and parents, James Edward Brown and Edna Shropshire Brown.
Survivors include her husband, William Halstead “Billy” Anderson, II of Macon; daughter, Colyar McCord Persons (Peter) of Macon; son, Robert A. “Rob” McCord, IV (Susan Marie) of Macon; stepson, William Halstead “Billy” Anderson, III (Nina) of Macon; daughter-in-law, Helen Anderson of Macon; eleven grandchildren, Pierce, Henry, Robert, Miller, Colyar, Bobby, Lila, Tindal, Maggie, Riley, and Kate; sister, Virginia Cutler of Macon; brother, Murray Brown of Orlando, Florida; Nephew, Gregg Nixon of Macon; niece, Ginger Mixon of Atlanta; and several great nieces and nephews.
Harts Mortuary at the Cupola has charge of arrangements.
