Mr. Aubrey Anderson, age 79, of Lyons, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Oaks-Bethany in Vidalia, after an extended illness.

He was a native of the Blue Ridge Community in Toombs County, was a 1956 graduate of Lyons High School.

After graduation enlisted in the U.S. Army. He retired as Sergeant First Class after twenty years of service. He was a veteran of Vietnam, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

Aubrey enjoyed fishing and bowling, and was an avid card player.

He was a member of Lyons Masonic Lodge # 49, and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Curtis Coleman Anderson; and two brothers, Jim Paul Anderson and Douglas Anderson.

Burial will be in the Lyons City Cemetery with Military Honors.
