Mrs. Dathol Marie Anderson (Bailey), age 89, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at home in LaConner, Wa, cared for and surrounded by her family.

She was an avid quilter, walker, traveler, and conversationalist, and was dedicated to the well-being of her family and friends. Born February 28, 1926 near Pryorsburg, Ky to Louis & Mable Rogers Bailey, she spend her childhood in rural Graves County in the company of her sister Dorothy and her brother Boyd. After graduating from high school, she attended Berea College, and was a proud graduate of Murray State University. Dathol was a career educator, teaching elementary school in Ohio, Kentucky, and California before retiring from the El Monte Unified School District in El Monte, Ca. After retiring and caring for her own mother, Dathol moved to Burlington, Wa in later years to be near her family and to enjoy the Pacific Northwest.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband- Lewis Anderson, Jr., her beloved daughter- Barbara Anderson O’Day, and grandson- Gordon Bailey Anderson II. Dathol is survived by her sons- Lewis Anderson III (Mary), and Gordon Bailey Anderson (Christine), granddaughters- Kimberly Martinez, Jennifer Minghine, Andrea Davis, and Robin DiSalvo, grandsons- Aaron Anderson and Will Anderson, and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM the Highland Park Mausoleums with Bro. Bobby Crittendon officiating. Friends are ask to meet at the Mausoleum at the service time on Friday. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzhimer’s Association, 2225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or on-line at alz.org.
