Mrs. Allen, 94, died Nov. 2, 2003, at Haven Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 13, 1909, to John Anderson and Mary Anderson.
She was a former housekeeper for John Perkins. She was a member of St. Mark M.B. Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Denon Allen.
Survivors are her nieces, Teretha Burge, Dorothy Watkins and Katie Kelly, all of Brookhaven, Rose Hammond of Chicago, Ill., Irene Story of Milwaukee, Wis., and Shirley Thompson of Los Angeles, Calif.; and her nephews, Charlie Smith of Sacramento, Calif., James Smith of Antioch, Calif., Samuel Hodge of Los Angeles, and Clarence Burge of Chicago.
