Allan Dwight Anderson passed away at the age of 92. He was to Harlow and Lillian Anderson, the second child of 4 children. Allan was adventurous sole and experience life fully. At the age of 8 he was selling newspapers and shining shoes. He became a long-distance bus driver for Greyhound Lines in San Francisco; his route was to Idaho and back. During his time with Greyhound Lines he would admire the ranches and land along Interstate 80 which lead him to purchase his ranch land some 30 years ago, named "Interstate Andy." Allan and Marlene built their dream home on the land facing the Ruby Mountains. Allan worked for the Elko School District from 1985 to 1992 training bus drivers and insuring the children transported daily were in safe hands. Allan was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church; Senior Citizen Center for daily lunch time visits and short-time driver of their shuttle bus, as well as the VFW and American Legion. He touched many lives with his helping hand and generous nature. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria O'Rourke; his granddaughter, Lisa (Brandon) Booth; his great-granddaughters, Vanessa Booth and Heather Booth all of California; his cousins, Robert and Helen Hayman of Pennsylvania; and Betty and Terri Shimp of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene; his brother, Harlow Anderson, Jr.; his brother, Wilbur Anderson; and his sister, Janice Huffman.
