Mrs. Ada Andre Alexander, 59, long a resident of this city, died at the family home, 110 Atlantic Avenue, at 11 am Monday of heart failure. She had been in failing health for several weeks. She was born in Venango County June 19, 1861.
She spent virtually all her life in Venango County, with the exception of a few years when they lived in Sharon. She was a woman who had many loyal friends, was well-liked for her motherly traits, and held in the highest esteem. She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin.
About 38 years ag she married L. E. Alexander, and he survives, with daughters Mrs. David Faden of Youngstown, OH, Mrs. Sanford Cole of Sharon, Miss Clara Alexander of Chicago; five sisters and a brother, Mrs. Fred Giegel, Toledo, OH, Mrs. Walter Proper, Pleasantville, Mrs. Colonel Perrine , Stoneboro, Mrs. Wesley Cramer and Miss Mary Andre of Franklin, and R. C. Andre, Taft, CA; and a grandson, Glenn Collins. A son, Sterling, enlisted with the 8th Company, 5th Regiment Marines, and died a hero's death as a courier between regiments in the fierce fighting in Belleau Wood during the campaign of 1918.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday with Rev. Dr. James Albert Patterson in charge. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
