Mrs. Ivy A. Andrews

Mrs. Daisy Robbins Andrews, widow of the late Ivy A. Andrews passed away Wednesday night at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Adkins on Maryland Avenue after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Andrews had been in declining health for the past few months and for the past week had grown progressively weaker until the end came last night at ten o'clock.

Mrs. Andrews was born in Baltimore, a daughter of the late S. Washington and Laura Thomas Robbins. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Cambridge where she had spent practically her entire life. Since a young woman, she had been a member of Zion Methodist Church here and as long as her health permitted had been a regular attendant. She was a member of Minerva Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Andrews, although a quiet and unassuming person by nature, had made a large circle of sincere friends and acquaintances during her life and in her death her family and friends have suffered a great loss.

As a young woman she married Mr. Ivy A. Andrews, one of the community's most outstanding seafood packers and fertilizer manufacturers, and for a long number of years the family resided at 10 Locust Street. Mr. Andrews passed away in 1935 and shortly thereafter the family moved to the Glasgow Street address where Mrs. Andrews has since resided.

Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Adkins, Cambridge, one son, Ivy A. Andrews, Jr., Cambridge, one sister, Mrs. Nancy Dean, two brothers, Fred Robbins and Miller Robbins, all of Cambridge. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Alton S. Miller officiating. Interment will be in the family burial lot in Christ Church Cemetery.
