The Daily Northwestern (Oshkosh, WI) Mon 4 Nov 1901, page two:
Mrs. Catherine A. Rockwell of 242 Algoma street, died this morning shortly before two o'clock from paralysis. In her death Oshkosh lost a highly respected pioneer resident, whose beautiful character and benevolence were well known. She had not been well for about a year, but her serious condition dates back only about two weeks. Death came quite suddenly from a paralytic shock. Mrs. Rockwell was about 58 years of age. She was the only daughter of George R. Andrews, an old and leading citizen of Oshkosh. He died about twenty-five years ago. Mrs. Rockwell was married to the late A. G. Rockwell in 1861 in Shawano. Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell came to Oshkosh about thirty years ago and Mrs. Rockwell resided here ever since. Mr. Rockwell was a lumberman. The Ladies' Benevolent Society formerly claimed the deceased as a member and her benevolent and charitable work carried on quietly but with marked success. Two sons survive. They are George A. Rockwell, an architect, residing at 349 Washington street, and Thomas A. Rockwell, a real estate dealer, residing at 420 Algoma street. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence.
