Adolph C. Andrews, 93, of Oshkosh, died Saturday evening Aug.5, 1989, in Oshkosh Care Center.

He was born June 6, 1896, in Chicago, the son of Alex and Amelia Schneckenberg Andrews. On Jan. 25, 1919, he married Agnes McCleod in Chicago and she preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1951. He then married Dorothy Paffenroth on Dec. 1, 1951, in Oshkosh.

Ade worked for Stowe Scale Co. until 1937 when he moved to Wisconsin and started his own company, the A.C. Andrews Scale Service Co., retiring in 1965.

He was a World War I U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church; American Legion Post 70; World War I Barracks 1472; the Last Man's Club; the Order of the Eastern Star; Masonic Lodge 27; Winnebagoland Shrine Club; 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite; and was a former member of the Elks Club and Eagles Aerie 267.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son and daughter-in-law, James S. and Beverly Andrews of Denver, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Anderson of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Leon (Zeo) Stevens of Pewaukee, Wis.; a brother, Bruce Andrews of Ellington, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1989, at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home at 7 p.m. with the Revs. C. Richard Becker and Brian H. Staude officiating, preceded by an American Legion and World War I Barracks service at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established.
