He will be best remembered for his roles in several classic daytime soap opera television series including that of 'Bob Chandler' in "General Hospital," in 1963, twin brothers, 'Jason Tate' and 'Benny Tate' in "Return To Peyton Place," from 1972 to 1973, and as 'Detective Perry' in "Days Of Our Lives," in 1973. He was born as Benjamin Poul Andrews in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ben F. Andrews (1918-1968), and his wife Emma M. Zambory Andrews (1919-1998), on May 16, 1942. He also had a half-brother named Johnny Andrews (1946-1971). He was educated locally and attended Parma Senior High School in Parma, Ohio, where he excelled in drama and giving speeches before he attended and graduated from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelor's Degree, and the Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he received his Master's Degree. He then served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from February 7, 1968, until he was discharged on December 10, 1968. He reenlisted in the United States Army on March 18, 1971, and served until he was again discharged on January 31, 1974. Following his military service, he resumed his acting career. Besides, his appearances on several classic daytime soap opera television series including, "General Hospital" (1963), "Return To Peyton Place" (1972-1973), and "Days Of Our Lives" (1973), he also appeared in guest starring roles in many classic television series including as 'Alan Bateman' in the episode entitled, "The Illusion Of Black Gold," in "The Magician," in 1974, 'Edmund Osborne' in the episode entitled, "Death And The Favored Few," in "The Streets Of San Francisco," in 1974, 'Paul Stryker' in the episode entitled, "A Time To Die," in "Kodiak," in 1974, 'Gil Yarborough' in the episode entitled, "Desert Sun," in "Mannix," in 1974, 'Miro' in the episode entitled, "The Liberator," in "Planet Of The Apes," in 1974, 'Jeff' in the episode entitled, "Please Stand By For A Murder," in "The Wide World Of Mystery," in 1975, 'Pearce Young' in the episode entitled, "Double Trouble" in "Shazam!" in 1975, 'Sgt.
