Florence M. Allison, 86, of 1103 S. Fourth St. in Fairfield, died March 5, 2013, at Parkview Care Center, where she had been a resident since 2009.

She was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Greek immigrants Soloman "Sam" and Clara Mardy Angel. She married Charles Richard "Dick" Allison on Jan. 19, 1946, in Fairfield.

Florence graduated from high school in Washington, D.C. She moved to Tucson, Ariz, in 1945 and worked as a secretary at the Davis-Montham Air Base, where she met Charles Richard "Dick" Allison of Fairfield.

She was a charter member of the Fairfield Jaycettes, the Fairfield Fire Department Auxiliary, worked at the Bargain Box, was involved with the women's bowling league and loved going to the casino and card playing.

Surviving are her two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth"(Walter)Brownlee and Bonnie Allison, both of Fairfield; four grandchildren, Tracy Grinstead Everly and husband Rob, Scott Grinstead and wife Maggie, Kelly Buckner and her husband Mike and Jamie Guffey and her husband Jason; seven great-grandchildren, Alex and Madison Everly, Jacob and Allison Grinstead, Lindsay and Zachary Guffey and Lucas Buckner; her brother, Leon(Jean)Angel of Callao, VA; and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 8, 1986; her parents; and a sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Bell.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield; with Pastor Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
