Pearley E. Ankrom, 66, of Thaw Place, Sistersville, W.Va., passed away on Aug. 3, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 20, 1948, a son of the late Pearley L. Ankrom and Lula Mae Shreves Ankrom.

Pearley retired from Cabot Ohio River Plant and Labor Local 1085 with 39 years of service. His favorite things to do were mowing the farm and talking to everyone. He loved watching his three grandchildren and telling them about life.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Wilkinson Ankrom of 45 years; sons, Mike (Lisa) Ankrom of Everett, Wash., and Mark (Becky) Ankrom of Sistersville; grandchildren, Blaise, Amanda and Hannah (Sis); brother, Kenneth (Loretta) Ankrom, his hero, of Bellsville, W.Va.; and sisters, Nancy Runion and Mary Barnhart of Sistersville; and very special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by young son, Scott Ankrom; one brother; and 9 sisters.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Myers Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Myers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rosenbaum Family House, P.O. Box 8228, Morgantown, WV 26506-8228.
