Berna Kay Zickefoose Ankrom; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Roger Tucker of Greenwood; a sister, June Bill of Columbus, Ga.; a grandson, Rick Moyers; two stepgrandchildren, Janie and Eric Tucker; and several nieces and nephews.
Berna Kay Ankrom, 72, of Greenwood, WV, departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, following a sudden illness.
Berna was born June 18, 1943 in Smithville, WV, a daughter of the late Bernard and Beatrice (Deem) Zickefoose. She spent her life as a loving and caring homemaker for her family. She also worked in the garment industry of Ritchie County at the Harrisville factory until it closed. She greatly enjoyed crafting, baking, flower arranging, and talking to her many friends. She was Baptist by faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Tucker (Roger) of Greenwood, WV; grandchildren, Rick Moyers of Harrisville, WV; Eric Tucker of Parkersburg, WV; Janie Tucker of CO; sisters, Linda Lance (Bobby) of OH; Sandy Howard (Denny) of NC; brother, Tom Wilhelm of OH, along with her many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester "Bud" Ankrom in 2003; daughter, Connie Moyers, and grandson, Christopher Moyers.
Funeral services will be 11am, Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with her grandson, Eric Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Joseph's Mills, WV. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
