Sister M. Margarite Apostolo, 78 years old, a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family for 60 years, died in Fremont, California on Monday, March 16, 2009. Sister Margarite’s ministries included Hawaii and California and Sister served 30 years in Pastoral Ministry and Hospital Chaplaincy at St. Mary’s in San Francisco and Seton Medical Center in Daly City. In 2005 Sister Margarite retired to the Motherhouse in Fremont and continued her Pastoral Ministry with the formation of a Bereavement Support Group. Sister Margarite is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Alfred Romine of South San Francisco; her brother, Martin Dempsey of San Francisco; her niece, Sharon Spencer and her husband, Michael; grandnieces, Melissa and Tiffany Spencer and grandnephew, Matthew Spencer, all of Newark. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Motherhouse Chapel of the Sisters of the Holy Family, 159 Washington Blvd., Fremont, California, on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, at 2:00 p.m.
