Funeral services for Joseph Wayne "Country" Apostolo, 64 of Liverpool,TX formerly of Shiro, TX were held 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at Independence Cemetery with the Rev. Joel Straham officiating. Interment was in Independence Cemetery in Shiro under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. Apostolo died Tuesday, May 3,2005 in Bird Island near San Louis Pass TX. He was born on Sept. 3, 1940, in Navasota TX, son of Joseph Manuel and Hattie Wilma Henderson Apostolo. He was a retired elevator mechanic. He is survived by his wife Judy Apostolo of Liverpool; daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Craig Walker of Santa Fe; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Tessie Apostolo of Magnolia; step-sister Wanda and Ted Slayton of Fort Worth; brothers-in-law and wives Ricky and Cindy Grisham of Slayden, Miss., Sonny and Deannie Grisham of Slayden, Miss.; sisters-in-law and husbands Anita and Gene Crawford of Germantown, Tenn., Jeanine and Scott Steel of Slayden, Miss.; four grandchildren and one due on Country's birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Serving as Pallbearers were Sonny Grisham, Ricky Gris-ham, Craig Walker, Scott Steele, Ashley Grisham and Gene Crawford. Memorials may be made to The Independence Cemetery, Shiro or American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Drive, Ste. 175, Houston, Texas, 77057.
