Helen Marie Layton Apostolo, 64, of Cuero, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010. She was born Nov. 13, 1945, in Cuero, to Leona Mae Layton of Cuero and the late Louis Michael Layton. She worked for an electronics assembly company in Dallas.

Helen loved pretty flowers and plants. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior last year and was so thankful for her salvation and knowing she would be with Jesus in Heaven.

She is survived by her mother; nieces, Terri Dumas of Pleasanton; nephews, Todd Layton of Round Rock and John Layton of Round Mountain; great-nieces, Morgan Dumas and Abby Dumas, both of Pleasanton, Tabetha Layton of Cedar Park, Tara Layton of Temple, Sara Layton and Ava Layton, both of Round Mountain; and great-nephews, Seth Dumas and Cody Dumas, both of Pleasanton.

She was preceded in death by her father; infant son, Christopher Bunch; brothers, Louis James Layton and David William Layton; nephew, Craig Layton and niece, Deborah Cassel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.

Pallbearers will be Todd Layton, John Layton, Dan Dumas, Seth Dumas, and Cody Dumas.
