Funeral services for Ernest Applegate, 65, of Sand Springs were held Wednesday at Church of God with Rev. Farrell Berry officiating. Interment was in Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service. He died on March 5, 1972. He was born on February 7, 1907 in Berryville, Arkansas. He was the retired owner of City Feed Store. Survivors include his wife, Edna Elizabeth (Williams) Applegate; his mother, Martha Applegate of Sand Springs; his daughter, Opal Matthews of Sand Springs; his son, Leon Arlin Applegate of Sand Springs; his sister, Lola Lawson of Sand Springs; his brothers, Charles Applegate of Sapulpa, Hubert Applegate of Sand Springs, and Roy Applegate of Oklahoma City; and five grandchildren.
