Private, Battery D, 51st Artillery. Son of Emil and Hulda Applegren; born June 20, 1892 at Galesburg. Entered service at Galesburg, April 1, 1918; to Fort Screven, GA; transferred to 64th Artillery June 3, 1918; to France; transferred to 51st Artillery as Truck Driver; discharged February 26, 1919.

Carl Arthur Applegren, 438 North Seminary Street, a druggist who followed that profession for years, died unexpectedly while seated in a chair at his home Monday afternoon about 5 o'clock.
Mr. Applegren was born in Galesburg, June 20, 1892. He attended the Lincoln Grade School and was graduated from the local high school. Mr. Applegren was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the First World War.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Applegren, and a brother, Robert O Applegren, all of Galesburg.
Services are to be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kimber and West mortuary where friends may call Wednesday. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
