Mrs. Hannah Katherine VanBibber, widow of the late George L. VanBibber, died at the home of her son, Judge George L. VanBibber on Friday evening. Her death was due to the infirmities of old age. She was born July 27, 1815, and was a daughter of Chief Justice Stevenson Archer, of the Maryland Court of Appeals who resided at Medical Hall, near Churchville. Her husband was a merchant and planter of Natchez, Mississippi. He was a brother of the late Dr. Chew VanBibber, of Baltimore. Mrs. Pamelia Chamberlaine is her only other surviving sister. She has one daughter, Mrs. Lucretia Emory Doane, of Miami, Florida. Mrs. VanBibber was noted for her many, quiet unostentatious charities. She did her good work in a true Scriptural manner and her kindnesses of the past will not be forgotten by the many whom she remembered. Her funeral took place on Monday morning, services being held in Emmanuel Church, Bel Air, of which she was a member. The interment was in the family lot in the cemetery of the Churchville Presbyterian Church. Rev. R. A. Castleman was the officiating minister. The pallbearers were Philip H. Close, Lewis J. Williams, R. Harry Webster, William F. Hays, Frank H. Jacobs, Henry W. Archer, Glasgow Archer, and Alexander M. Fulford, Jr. Dean and Son were the undertakers.
