Antonio M. Armetta, 98, of 1900 6th Ave., Rock Island, died Friday, May 3, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island, where he was a member. Entombment is in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Rock Island.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a wake service at 7. Memorials may be made to the church.
Mr. Armetta was born Jan. 28, 1898, in Palermo, Italy.
He came to the United States July 16, 1914, settling in Rock Island.
He became a naturalized citizen Sept. 21, 1943, in Rock Island.
He worked as a saw operator at the Rock Island Mill Works for four years, retiring in 1963.
He enjoyed walking and watching baseball.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Marilyn Armetta, Chicago; a son-in-law, Richard W. Miller, Rock Island; grandchildren, Debra, Pamela, Patricia and Earl Miller, Steven and Victoria Armetta; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Compano, Moline, Caroline Sqarlota, Silver Springs, Md., and Frances Sheets, Charleston, W. Va.; and a brother, Dominic Armetta, Moline. A daughter, Joan M. Miller, died Sept. 7, 1993.

He has a daughter, Joan Miller, Rock Island, and a son, John, Chicago. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Armetta was employed by the Rock Island Mill Works for 40 years, retiring in 1963.
He is a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Rock Island.
He was married to Caroline Delfino in 1939 in Cook Co., Ill. She died in 1971.
