Dominic A. Armetta, 83, of Moline, died February 20, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services were at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Entombment was at Moline Memorial Park. Military honors were conducted by the Moline American Legion Post # 246. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Dominic was born July 25, 1924 in Rock Island to Giacomo and Rosaria (Amato) Armetta. He married Natalie Biscontine on July 10, 1954 in Rock Island. Dominic was an electrical engineer for the former IA/IL Gas and Electric Co. (currently Mid American) retiring in July of 1989. Dominic was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was very interested in current news events and politics. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening. He loved the ocean and wintering in Myrtle Beach, SC. He also loved visiting with his grandkids. Dominic is survived by Wife Natalie Children Gina (Rick) Rappenecker Mediapolis, IA Chris Armetta Villa Park, IL Geri Armetta Muscatine, IA Corey Armetta Rock Island Jim (Leanne) Armetta Naperville, IL Grandchildren Aubree, Brett, & Jordan Rappenecker Courtney & Hannah Armetta Nicholas Armetta Sisters Frances Sheets Charleston, WV Caroline Sgarlata Silver Springs, MD He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Anthony, Angelo, Emanuel, Sam and Tony Armetta, and sisters Rose and Nuncie.
