Mrs. George Adams
Mrs. Georgie Ruth Adams, wife of Geo. W. Adams of this county died at her home near Susan last Friday after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at 3:30 by Rev. G. W. Burch at St. Paul's church and interment was in the Friendship cemetery. Mrs. Adams was 25 years old and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Armistead of Susan. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by four brothers and five sisters.
~ Her husband died 2 weeks later. This is one of an unusually large number of obituaries reported in the paper. An article in the same issue reports that over 500 cases of the Spanish Influenza have been reported in Mathews county at that time.
