Obituaries in 1960 stated Mr. Armour was the inventor of the telephone booth door. The 1929 article presented below states Maurice C. Turner, partner of Mr. Armour, was the inventor of the design utilized by the business they formed in 1919.

Sold Rights for 3 Million

Albert Phelps Armour, formerly of Forest Hills, Queens, retired telephone-booth-door inventor and manufacturer, died yesterday at Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he had lived for the last four years.
Mr. Armour was reputed to have sold his patent rights in telephone-booth-door patents for $3,000,000 when he retired in 1929. His company, Turner, Armour & Co., sold out to the Western Electric Company at that time.
Mr. Armour leaves his wife, Iras; a daughter by a previous marriage, Miss Shirley Elizabeth Armour, and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Olena.

Albany, May 3—The Turner-Armour Corporation of the Borough of Queens has been chartered to manufacture cabinets, telephone booths, etc., and to operate saw and planing mill. The capital is $25,000 and the directors are Maurice C. Turner of Kew Gardens and A. P. Armour and H. G. Olena of Brooklyn. [Brooklyn Daily Eagle May 3, 1919]

New York- Trygve Lie, [first] secretary-general of the United Nations organization, will establish his official residence in August in a four story stone and stucco English style house at Forest Hills, N. Y, it has been learned. The house formerly was the property of Albert Phelps Armour, millionaire inventor and manufacturer. [Dixon Evening Telegraph (Dixon, IL) July 17, 1946]
