George, a resident of Barstow since 1950, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007, at the age of 85. George worked and retired from the USMC Yermo, Nebo and Daggett Annex's as a heavy equipment operator. His father, Jack Ruben Armstrong, mother Mary Ann Thompson, brother, Jack Jr. Armstrong, sisters, Hellen Kathern Hightower, Wonda Jene Martin and his great-grandson, Brandon James Marsh, preceded George in death. George leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Mary E. Armstrong; daughter, Mary Lou Shephard; sons, George D. Armstrong Jr., Edwin F. Armstrong, and Kenneth A. Armstrong; grandchildren. James D. Marsh, Jason D. Marsh, Mary R. Mitchel, David L. Armstrong, Annett R. Armstrong, Angel M. Armstrong, Justin L. Armstrong, Michell R. Armstrong, Paul E. Armstrong, Traci L. Armstrong, Brandy L. Armstrong, Brandon K. Armstrong, Cory A. Armstrong, Amber R. Armstrong, and Jourdan M. Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Kayla Armstrong, Brandon James Marsh (deceased), Kayla Armstrong, Kaylee, Zachary, and Kiah Mitchel, Ashley N. Comers, Tylor Comers, Jocelyn Comers, and Mateo Florian.
