Corning Journal Thursday Oct 9 1890

Asa Arnold died in Leroy, Oct. 7, aged seventy-four years. He was a merchant In Corning for a few years, dating from about the year 1840. He then became a merchant in the village of Woodhull, and there continued for a series of years, when he sold out and had no other business than loaning money. Eventually he met with losses, and a dozen years ago he became Erie Station Agent at LeRoy, Genesee county. Several years ago he had a rheumatic attack, and subsequently became comparatively helpless. He leaves a wife, but no children. Mr. Arnold will be kindly remembered by the few who knew him while he was a resident of Corning. He was a brother of Oliver Arnold, deceased of Corning, and of tbe late William J. Arnold, of Wabasha, Minnesota. The body of Mr. Arnold arrived on the 1 p. m. train today and was buried in Hope Cemetery where the parents of the deceased were buried. Rev. Pierre Cashing, the Episcopal Rector of LeRoy, came with the friends and officiated at the grave.
