Elizabeth Durkin Arnold, 92, of Camp Hill, died peacefully at home on April 4, 2009. She was the daughter of John and Sarah Malarkey Durkin of Scranton, PA, and was predeceased by them and her brothers and sisters. "Betsy" was also predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Col (USA-Retired) Leslie A. Arnold, and their eldest son, Sp4 Leslie A. Arnold III. She is survived by her children, Kevin Durkin and Leslie Bisger Arnold of Norfolk VA, and Katsumi and Sara Arnold Kawamura of Camp Hill. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick J. and Pratima Patel Kawamura of Dallas, TX, and Jonathan H. and Ann Esin Kawamura of Pasadena, CA, and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Leslie and Wren Elizabeth of Pasadena. She is also survived by her much loved companion of many years, Col (USA-Retired) Joseph J. Prusaitis of Camp Hill, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Betsy was a friend of Bill W's for 34 years, and found a new life in that large and supportive fellowship.

Betsy will be remembered as a person who loved her family and her home, had a wonderful sense of humor, made the world's best chocolate chip cookies, and always had a smile and a hug for everyone. We will all miss her deeply but rejoice that we had her with us for so many years.

We are grateful to Hospice of Central PA for their support and caring through the last few years.

There will be no services at her request. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
