Vere married Margaret 'June' (Arnold) Ash on April 1, 1947 in Van Buren, IN. Mr. Ash was a lifelong Warren resident. He attended the Warren School. He was a Self Employed Well Drilling Contractor for Water and Oil wells and also worked as a welder. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Ft. Wayne, IN, the Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge #333 F&A.M., and the Brown-Doyle American Legion post in Van Buren, IN. Vere was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the European Theatre durring WWII.

Survivors include Wife-Margaret 'June' (Arnold) Ash of Warren, IN. 2 Daughters-Sandra Jo (Randal) Griffith of Middletown, IN. and Susan Jane (Brian) Stern of Winchester, IN. Step Son-Anthony D. Stults of Huntington, IN. Sister-Monna Perkey of Antioch, Calif. One Grandchild, 2 Great Grandchildren, 7 Step Grandchildren and Several Step Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by: His Father-Ray Ash, Mother-Bessie (Enyart) Ash, 2 Step Daughters-Marjorie P. Kieler and Ruth Ann Crain and Sister-June Coons.
