Oneida, Oct. 25 - The funeral of Arthur E. Ashby, a well known painter of this city, whose death occurred on Friday, was held yesterday afternoon from his late home, 65 Washington avenue, Rev. George B. Swinnerton officiating.

The remains were taken to Cleveland, N. Y., for Interment.

He had been a resident of Oneida for many years and besides his wife he leaves two daughters. Miss Rhoda Ashby and Mrs. LeRoy Blanchard of this city, a son, Lansing Ashby of Syracuse, and two sisters, Mrs. John W. Cole of Oriskany and Mrs. William J. Griffith of Cortland.
