Alex Ashley died at 8:45 last evening of old age at the home, 177 South Water street. He was born in Canada S4 years ago but had resided in this city since he was sir months old. The deceased followed the occupation of marble polisher until his retirement several years ago. He attended the Notre Dame church regularly. Mr. Ashley is survived by his widow; four sons, Alex, Henry Augustus and Eugene,'all of this city; two brothers, Frank of Ogdensburg and John of South Dakota, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Abar of Auburn.
The funeral arrangements were not completed last evening.
