Alice Evelyn Caviness Ashmore, 82, died May 8, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was a private duty nurse who had also worked at Brown Shoe Company, Prentiss Mfg. and Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and loved to garden and grow flowers. She was the widow of J.W. Ashmore.
Services were at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Booneville Cemetery.
Survivors included her daughter, Joyce (Hoyt) Stringer of Henderson, Nev.; her son, Charles "Chuck" (Wanda) Ashmore of Booneville; two sisters, Beatrice West of Baton Rouge, La. and Agnes Moreland of Booneville; her nephew who she raised, John (Lois) Caviness of Booneville; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
