Services will be held Tuesday, for Mary Elizabeth Astor, who passed away Nov. 18, 2004 in Fortuna at the age of 80. She was a resident of Fortuna.
A lifelong resident of California, Mary was born Dec. 31, 1923 in Brentwood Heights in Los Angeles County. She came to Humboldt County in 1948 where she made her home in the Fortuna area.
Mary had been a Surgical technician at Redwood Memorial Hospital for 18 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Fortuna Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mary is survived by her son Darrell Astor of Fortuna; daughter, Roxanne Astor of Medesto. She is also survived by her three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howell X. Astor and by a son Vance Astor.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Sunrise Cemetery, Fortuna.
Arrangements are under the direction of Goble’s Chapel Fortuna, where friends may call Monday, November 22nd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
