A special to the Times-Democrat from Shreveport, dated March 4th, says:
Sunday, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Miss Ella Foster, of this city and Professor J.B. Aswell, president of the State Industrial School at Ruston, were married by Rev. H.C. Carson, of the Industrial Institute, at the residence of the bride. The bride is a charming young lady and has many friends in this city.
Ella Foster Aswell died on Sunday, September 12, 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She arrived in Shreveport two months ago to visit her sister, Mrs. S.S. Gulatt. She became ill on Friday morning, September 10, 1937. She was predeceased by her husband, Congressman J.B. Aswell of the Eighth Louisiana District. Survivors included one daughter, Mrs. George Cantrell of Georgetown, Kentucky; one son, James B. Aswell of New York City; five nieces: Miss Leona Gulatt of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Mason Jackson, Mrs. J.A. Styron, Mrs. Hattie Bailey and Mrs. J.E. Goode, all of Shreveport and two nephews: Foster Gulatt and Edwin Gulatt. Her remains will be sent to the District of Columbia for burial.
