Daniel Ward "Pop" Atkinson, 81 of St. Albans passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston. Born December 5, 1928 in St. Albans, he was a son of the late John Milton and Laura M. Elkins Atkinson.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Walker Atkinson, six sisters and two brothers.

Prior to remodeling homes he was in the auto business and he was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps.

Daniel is survived by
his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Donna Atkinson of St. Albans;
daughter, Donna Harrison and partner Dan Papp of Albany, GA;
grandchildren, Shane and Donald Atkinson, Sheri Rasberry, Carl, Chad and Tabitha Harrison;
11 great grandchildren;
his special friends, Mary and Elmer Rooper and Carl Harrison.

Funeral service at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, 409 Sixth Avenue, St. Albans with Rev. Joel M. Harpold officiating. Burial in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
