Grove City -- Mrs. Anna Houghton Atwell, 91, formerly of Broad Street, Grove City, died at 7:25 pm Sunday in the Mercer County Home and Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Lynn, MI, Dec. 22, 1880, daughter of John and Caroline McLaughlin Houghton.
She married George Parker Atwell who died in 1926.
She lived in Grove City since childhood, and was a member of the Scotch Hill United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy (June) Truran, Warren, OH, and Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) McNerney, Des Moines, IA; four sons, Stewart, Phoenix, AZ, Ross, Sharon, Wayne, Grove City RD, and Donald, Grove City; a brother, Donald Houghton, Mount Pleasant, MI; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Deceased is a son, John Atwell.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at John C. Dorr Funeral Home with Rev. Fulton C. Kissick, pastor-director of Grove City Larger Parish, officiating. Interment will be in Amity Cemetery.
