Josephine August Baskerville, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at her Westminster- Canterbury residence.

Mrs. Baskerville was born in Richmond, Va., on December 10, 1913 to the late Albert Tappan August and Augusta Bodeker August.

She was the widow of Jack Hardaway Baskerville, former Executive Vice President and Senior Trust Officer of First and Merchants National Bank.

She was a former president of Florence Nightingale Circle of Sheltering Arms Hospital, former president of the Elizabeth Kates Foundation of the State Industrial Farm for Women, member and former board member of the Tuckahoe Woman's Club, member and former president of the Riverside Garden Club, member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church and its choir, former longtime member and board member of the Richmond Choral Society and member of the Country Club of Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, in the Commons at Westminster-Canterbury with a reception to follow. Burial in Hollywood Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1627 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220 or to Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Pkwy., Richmond, Va. 23227.
