MAGDALENA AUSTEN ASH

Ash, Magdalena A., d. 20 Nov 1909, aged 58Y.

Magdalena Austen was born in Richland Township as the daughter of Charles and Ann Austen, immigrants from England.

She was probably the oldest daughter, with at least 8 brothers and sisters following her arrival. She is found on many early census records as Maggie or Margaret.

Magdalena married Charles Ash of Hampton Township between 1870 and 1880.

Charles appears on the 1870 census with a Mary A. Ash who is older than him and may have been a wife or a sister.

By 1880 he and Magdalena have 3 young children. She had 8 children, according to the 1900 census.

She died in November of 1909, perhaps a widow. The location of the grave of her husband is not known.

Magdalena is buried with her parents and brothers' families.
